A poll released following the unofficial Labor Day start of the fall campaign has Donald Trump with a 1-point lead over Hillary Clinton in the presidential race. Trump’s 49 percent to 48 percent lead in a CNN/ORC International survey released Tuesday is was well within the poll’s 3.5-percentage-point margin of error.
This was Trump’s first lead, how ever slight, in a conventional poll since a July CNN survey, according to Real Clear Politics. That earlier CNN poll was taken between the two national political conventions. Since then, Clinton has moved ahead both nationally and in key battleground states.
Clinton still held an advantage of 3.3 percentage points in an average of recent national polls.
