Minsk Agreements allow LPR and DPR to assert their international political identity and shift western perception of Republics from “terroristic organizations” to de facto sovereign states with limited recognition, said LPR envoy to Minsk negotiations Vladislav Deinego.
“We succeed in asserting our political identity via Minsk mechanisms. Yesterday we were referred to as terrorist organizations, illegal groups, today we are defined as unrecognized republics,” he emphasized.
The envoy cited Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) documents that use the above definition referring to DPR and LPR.
“Minsk negotiations might seem a sluggish yackety-yak, but indeed there is a substantial process underneath, our first priority in Minsk is to show our ability to reach agreements and Kiev’s counterproductive position,” Deinego added.
