Experts from Russia’s Defense Ministry handed over to Syria evidence that proved Syrian militants used chemical weapons in the northwestern Syrian province of Aleppo, the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
Experts of the Russian Defense Ministry handed over to representatives of Syria’s national regulator in charge of implementing the OPCW (Organization For The Prohibition Of Chemical Weapons) convention in Aleppo, materials and documents that proved chemical weapons had been used near the village of Maarat Umm Hawsh,” the message read.
The evidence includes analyses of samples taken at the site of a suspected chemical attack, a shell filled with mustard gas, and earth samples from where it landed.
