The representatives of the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) and OSCE Special Monitoring Mission recorded the aftermath of Zheltoye village shelling by Nazi Ukrainian forces.
LPR People’s Army said Kiev Junta military shelling on 27-28 November damaged residential houses, power transmission lines, a substation and utility buildings, leaving dozens of domestic animals killed and injured, including several cows, the main source of income for villagers.
JCCC reps and OSCE monitors recorded the damage to determine the direction of fire. JCCC also recorded eyewitness accounts by aggrieved locals while OSCE personnel refused to talk to the villagers.
Vladimir Shumeiko, chief of staff of the People’s Army battalion defending a strategic height in Zheltoye area said there were no LPR army units in the village of which the Ukrainian Junta side was aware.
There are no People’s Army units in the village, we’re stationed outside in order not to endanger the locals,” he said.
“This is another provocation to force us into violating the Minsk Agreements. They (Kiev forces –eds Lugansk Media Centre) deliberately anger us and local residents to make us take offensive actions,” Shumeiko said.
“They have more or less good equipment and well-trained soldiers, so this cannot be accidental, it’s out of the question,” he said.
My only bread-winner (cow – eds Lugansk Media Centre) has been injured. The doctors failed to extract the shrapnel piece sitting deep inside. Our cow provides for us and I have three grandchildren,” Mirnaya Street resident Nadezhda Zhigulskaya complained.
“We’re tired of all this. Let it all come to an end soon; we cannot bear it anymore,” she said.
“Shooting happens often. Fighters (of People’s Army–eds Lugansk Media Centre) are in hard circumstances up there on the hill. Now we are being shot at during the night, too,” village resident Irina Koreyeva said.
“We have residential houses, we have nobody (of military personnel – eds Lugansk Media Centre) here. It’s just negligence, simply they wanted to hurt us, make us suffer,” she said.
Earlier reports said a kindergarten and a residential house were damaged in shelling by Nazi Kiev forces on 8 November.
