Special founding congress of the Lenin Young Communist League was held in Donetsk, informs the website of the Council of Ministers and the People’s Congress of the DPR.
Member of the People’s Council of the DPR Boris Litvinov remarked that the idea of founding the Komsomol appeared as early as a year ago.
“Then an initiative group representing different cities and towns of the Donetsk People’s Republic was formed. Today its members and other people having experience of public activities, came together in order to found a political public organization”.
In the nearest future the Young Communist League of the DPR will be registered and will facilitate the all-embracing development of the Donetsk youth.
Notably, the welcome address from the Russian Young Communist League was read at the congress.
Be reminded that the Komsomol, or the All-Union Lenin Young Communist League was founded in the distant 1918. The tasks of this organization were to bring up the youth in the spirit of communism and its involvement into the practice of the new society construction. In 1977 more than 36 million of Soviet citizens had been Komsomol members.
