15-year-old record holder in power lifting arrives from Russia to support the DPR

Absolute world record holder in 2010-2013, the owner of more than 15 world records in bench press Maryana Naumova arrived to Donetsk.

Maryana became the first girl in history who at the age of 14 managed to lift the 60 kg weight in bench press. The athlete decided to share her experience with young sportsmen who live in Donbass and came to the DPR in order to conduct a few trainings.
“I have already got medals of all sorts, and that is why I want to carry out social activity now”, says Maryana. “I will tell children about sports, about healthy lifestyle. And the main thing, I want them to live without fear. There is war here now, it is frightful here, but they cannot be left without childhood. I am a schoolgirl, too. I wish my peers from the DPR peaceful life and patience”.
Maryana also confessed that she worried a lot before the trip to the self-styled Republic, but her desire to support the children of Donbass was stronger.
“I wanted to draw their attention off war”, adds the athlete. “When I was crossing the border, I saw burnt tanks and got scared. Here militiamen with machine-guns me, and I’ve got odd feelings. I live at a military base, and in the nearest days I’m going to give lessons in our school of bunch press for children. I think that militiamen would also like to lift a weight.
