Head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov advised the Assistant Secretary of State of the US Victoria Nuland to walk along the Crimean streets in order to form her own opinion about the life in the Republic, reports RIA Novosty news agency
“She should go to the streets, have a stroll downtown and see how people are living, ask them some questions”, — commented Aksenov on Nuland’s suggestion that “the Crimea and parts of Eastern Ukraine suffer from the reign of terror”.
Earlier Victoria Nuland in her speech on the meeting of the Committee in International Affairs emphasized the opinion that Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians, who refused to change their passports, as well as sex minorities and journalists “live [in Crimean territory] in constant fear of punishment”.
Head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov, having commented on the American official’s remarks, said that he is not going to keep on passing judgment in regard to irrelevant comment of Western politicians aimed at discrediting of the Crimea.
“I do not comment on dreams”, — said Sergey Aksenov.
It is interesting that Nuland earlier voiced the information about “thousands and thousands” of Russian military and accused Moscow of the supply of heavy armaments to the People’s Militias. At that she produced no evidence whatsoever, and international inspections did not register any violations on the part of Russia on the border with Ukraine including illegal military activity.
