Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said on Sunday he hopes the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) will pass the laws needed to attract more than three billion U.S. dollars.
“We need laws to attract more than three billion U.S. dollars – from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, government of various countries,” he told a national television channel. “This money will make it possible to stabilize the economic situation, to have a stable currency exchange rate.”
He said he hoped the Rada would vote in favour of “all reform-oriented packages initiated by the government.” “The second package is on a visa-free travel regime, on measures needed to implement it in Ukraine. The third package includes reforms of the law enforcement system and anti-corruption measures,” Yatsenyuk said.
He also said he planned to visit Canada, Great Britain and the United States in a period from July 13 to July 15 to have talks with top-ranking officials of those countries.
