Canada has allocated Ukraine more than 15 million Canadian dollars (it is about USD 12 million) in order to support democracy.
Canada’s Defense Minister Jason Kenney said this during his visit to Ukraine, the press service of the Canadian government reported.
In turn, 12.4 million of this amount were allocated to support the judicial reforms to help the Ukrainian courts become more independent, fair and efficient; and three million were allocated for anti-corruption investigative journalism and further accountability of the government.
“Canada fully supports Ukraine’s efforts to preserve the sovereignty, security and stability. We demonstrate our support by the contribution to strengthening of democracy and state institutions in Ukraine, as well as to strengthening of capacity and training of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” he said.
