Classes in accordance with the new republican education standards will begin on September 1 at schools in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), DPR Education and Science Minister Larisa Polyakova has said.
“We have managed to do the impossible over the past year. During the next academic year, which begins on September 1, we will switch to our own education standards,” the Donetsk news agency quotes her as saying.
Polyakova noted that the new standards were based on the Russian school curriculum. “We plan to integrate into the educational environment of Russia and other former Soviet republics,” the minister said.
She added that the main task during the development of the republican school curriculum was “to eliminate the nationalist ideology that was imposed by the Ukrainian authorities.”
She noted that the DPR was developing its own educational literature adapted to the education standards of the Donetsk republic.
