The Donetsk People’s Republic views the arrival of US military in the territory of Ukraine as an attempt to escalate the conflict in Donbass, said the DPR representative in the Contact Group Denis Pushilin.
“This is conscious policy. In combination with the moving up of military equipment this is meant to escalate the conflict”, Pushilin said according to RIA Novosti.
He expressed concern that after the end of the maneuvers the equipment may remain in the territory of Ukraine. “One of Ukraine’s aims in the joint maneuvers is to remain in possession of the equipment after the NATO troopers have left”, – noted Pushilin.
Earlier on April 17 American ambassador in Ukraine Jeoffrey Pyatt informed his followers in Twitter that 173rd Airborn troops had arrived in Ukraine to take part in the training of Ukrainian military.
The Kremlin said in this regard that the arrival of US troops in Ukraine does not facilitate settlement of the conflict and is able destabilize the situation.
173rd Airborn Brigade of the USA Army is based in Vicenza (Italy). As it was reported earlier, some 300 commandos flew in to Yavoriv military base in the Lviv Region of Ukraine.
The official Pentagon representative reported in March that American military would start training of the National Guard of Ukraien in the end of April.
