Dutch investigation of MH17 crash causes doubts because of its closed character – Purgin

Investigation of Boeing MH17 crash undertaken by Dutch experts causes doubts because of its closed character, Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Andrey Purgin told the DNA on the first anniversary of the tragedy.

“The process of investigation bore closed, classified character, that is why it cannot be trusted, moreover be the cause for the international tribunal”, — he claimed.

Purgin added that involvement of “as many as possible foreign investigators and experts” could be the way out.

The Speaker of the People’s Council expressed the opinion that “there are too many questions to this investigation and its methodology”. In this situation “publicizing of the results and declaring the international tribunal – looks like an odd and politicized decision”.

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes a similar stand at the moment. “The investigations itself rises numerous questions. The extraction of the plane’s fragments started only months after the catastrophe, and some of them still remain on the scene. Also records of Ukrainian air traffic control officers communication with the pilots had not been presented”, — head of the Ministry Sergey Lavrov said yesterday. At that Russia suggested UN Mission participation in the relief works, but the initiative was not supported, the minister reminded.

Information in regard to the preliminary results of MH17 crash appeared in Western media on July 15. At that the blame for the catastrophe was put on the militias. Malaysia introduced a draft resolution on holding the international tribunal for the investigation of the plane crush to the UN Security Council on July 4. The initiative was supported by Australia and the Netherlands (most of the victims were the citizens of these countries), Ukraine and Belgium.
