Laurent Gbagbo is an aged man, a native of Gagnoa, a city in the south of Côte d’Ivoire, a former French colony in West Africa. Laurent got education in the catholic school, then he studied in the University of Abidjan – the economic capital of the country. He graduated from University in 1965 with a degree in philosophy, and even 4 years later received the title of Bachelor in the History Department of the same university. After he spent 3 years in a prison for “subversive teaching”. This wording is covered with mystery. Later, since 1974 to 1980 he held a position of worker in the institute of history, art and archeology of the African University of Abidjan University. In 1979 he defended his doctoral thesis on the Ivorian politics at the Sorbonne. In 1980 actively engaged in the political and teaching activities, and in 1990 for the first time he put forward his candidacy for the presidency, but loses the election. The year 2000 marked for Laurent Gbagbo as the long-awaited victory in the presidential election, that was given to him by large extent the former colonial power of France.
When Gbagbo won, France assisted his government strongly, and it helped to suppress the rebellion in the country in 2002, and in 2003 the French secret services uncovered even “a plot to destabilize the regime of President Gbagbo, directed against French interests in the region.” For instance, 18 people were arrested in France, who were charged with the accusation, as well as conspiracy to murder of Gbagbo. The French military were in the country as peacekeepers with the UN contingent, but in fact they defended not only the integrity of the country, and the regime of President Gbagbo, but the French company’s assets. Company Michelin is very interested in the production of rubber in this small country, the French “Total” is the development of oil fields, “France Telecom” controls the telecommunications in the country. All of the country up to the energy and building materials materials (“Lafarge” and “Credit Agricole”) are controlled by France.
Gbagbo made the mistake having believed in western forces in the face of France, and looming behind her USA. He decided to pursue his independent policy, exactly, to hold nationalization of the most profitable economic branch of the state (export of cacao-beans), that refused to join ARIKOM (African commandment of the USA, including 49 states of the continent). As history of Libya and Sudan that were against this organization and refused, as well as the Ivory Coast to join it demonstrated sad consequences. Gbagbo was not given discretion, and they stopped all attempts to standing for independence. After a failed bombing of rebel troops in 2004 because of the inexperienced pilots suffered 40 military from the French contingent who were close to the enemy camp. The French Air Forces, have left no stone unturned in the Air Force of President Gbagbo. The next day, the streets were filled with people with posters “The French, be gone!”. After long negotiations was possible to reach an agreement and settle the conflict in 2007 alone. Gbagbo paid for this his prime minister appointment for Guillaume Soro.
The country lived as on a powder keg until 2010 year.Constant skirmishes between government forces and residents of some areas of discontent threatened to pour out onto the streets. The reason for this was the 2010 election year.
If we make a mental border between the north and south of the country, we get the following. South is more developed economically, his nation inhabits “beta” that is an ethnic minority, the majority profess Christianity, president is native of southern part of the country.North was deprieved an access to financial flows, populates his group “Dioula” included in the national “Mande”, Muslims, have always been distanced from power. These significant distortions in economic and religious constituents and stakeholders have played in changing the regime of Gbagbo’s party.
Perfect cover for information is to justify the interference of other countries fighting for democracy around the world.
As a sequence of 4 December 2010, Constitutional Council the Ivorian cancelled the results of the vote and declared incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo the winner of the second round of elections.
Riot started immediately. UN interfered into the case with supply of the US and France in supplying business intervened, it accepted the (mostly) side Urattary.
Inquiry:Alassane Ouattara was born in present-day Côte d’Ivoire. Graduated Universtitet Drexel and Pennsylvania University. He worked in the International Monetary Fund ( in 1984-1988 he headed the African department of IMF and and in the Central Bank of states of northern Africa (1988-1990).
In 1990 the president of Côte d’Ivoire Félix Houphouët-Boigny appointed him the head of inter-ministerial department on stabilization and development of economy. on 7th November he was appointed as Prime Minister. In 1994-1999 he worked in IMF having held the position of Deputy Managing Director. Before presidential elections in 1995 opposition party ‘Joining of Republicans’ tried to make him one of the candidates, however, Ouattara refused of taking part in elections. on 1st August he was chosen as a head of ‘Joining of Republicans’.
How we see, he was ideal candidate to lead the state with a help of outside interference. Aviation of France and UN held massive bombings of state army; Special Forces captured Gbagbo after a while. And his family was handed to adherents of Ouattara. “World Society” recognized victory of Ouattara at elections.
Laurent Gbagbo was delivered to The Hague on 30th November, 2011, he was brought before the International Criminal Court. He is charged with crimes against humanity.
Destiny is so changeable…You have been president of the state lately, West supported you, and everything was great. However, as soon as interests of you “allies” are violated, and you start doing your own way, you are out of work.
You would ask which attitude Ukraine has to this?
I suppose that president of Ukraine and deputies who surround him and struggle for power in rests of the state do not have to forget about destiny of Laurent Gbagbo. West needed you yesterday how comfortable instrument for destabilizing of the situation in the country, for creating of neo-colony. And today no one has serious attitude to you. You are no necessary…
Perhaps, your place will be taken the same competent manager like Ouattara, who knows.
