Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, a republic in the North Caucasus, wrote in Istagram on Wednesday that his words and remarks were sometimes misinterpreted. “Sometimes, I have a feeling that my statements and remarks are not properly understood. The vast audiences of ordinary Russians, whom I respect, should clearly understand one basic thing – I do not need any PR. Becoming someone’s idol is not my goal though, honestly, I am genuinely grateful to very many people who show solidarity with me,” Kadyrov said. He believes that social networks should not be a place for starting smear campaigns, which spoil Russia’s image, and rumors, which sow discord among its peoples. “It is the root cause of my irreconcilable animosity towards those who are ready to trade the interests of the state and the people for the chickenfeed offered by the West. In this connection, I would like my dear compatriots from various parts of my great Russia to know that my only wish is that we live together as one family and be vigilant in the face of a possible danger,” the head of Chechnya stressed. “The reason for creating my accounts was to clarify my civilian position on various issues of the country’s socio-political life that I consider to be important,” Kadyrov added.
