Fred Durst, best known as founder and frontman of the American iconic rock band Limp Bizkit, has not yet received a response to his request for the Russian citizenship, the musician said on Tuesday. “I haven’t received the answer yet,” Durst, currently on a tour of Russia, said upon arrival in the Urals city of Ekaterinburg. The musician named three reasons for his wish to live in Russia, among them were “beautiful country, beautiful people and tasty food.”
Durst said he preferred to live in some Russian city where the climate was not very severe.
Earlier the musician said he would like to get a Russian passport without rejected his US citizenship. “I want to spend at least half of my time here,” Durst said. “I feel something special to Russia and I have some ideas and business project for the entertainment industry.” The Limp Bizkit frontman also noted the band was ready to give concerts in Donbass Donetsk. “We have received the invitation to perform in Donetsk,” Durst said. “We need to find the time and then we will perform there.”
The invitation was sent by Alexander Paretsky, the culture minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Limp Bizkit is a worldwide famous new metal band, founded in 1994 in Florida.
Earlier in October Durst submitted an request to the Crimean administration, expressing his wish to settle on the peninsula.
