Motorola entered the Debaltsevo cauldron

One of the most battle-worthy units of Novorossiya – Sparta battalion – together with its legendary commander Motorola had been deployed near Debaltsevo. After the initial success the advance of People’s Militia in the Debaltsevo pocket has been limited recently to the positional fighting and “mopping-up” operations in the already captured territories. Military experts mark shortage of Novorossiyan Army forces for the ultimate settlement of the issue of the Ukrainian group in the operative encirclement. The total number of personnel of the militias is estimated as 3 – 3.5 thousand people, whereas estimated strength of the Ukrainian group is from 7 up to 9 thousand military men. Such balance of forces is not favourable for the militias, especially in offensive actions, even taking into account high motivation of NAF. Nevertheless, as far as we can make out, the militias will all the same try to storm the locality and force Ukrainian military out of this key stronghold of Ukrainian defense in this area – the fortified zone of Debaltsevo. Sparta battalion is redeployed to Uglegorsk. Thus unit was fighting for the Donetsk airport in the course of the last several months and was highly successful in combat. It was owing to their team spirit, excellent training and military skills the enemy’s strongholds in the airport had been captured. Right now their experience and knowledge will be of great use in the area of Debaltsevo, where the enemy had been reinforcing its positions in the course of several months.
