The deadline for candidates to submit their applications to take part in Serbia’s presidential elections has expired at midnight.
The Electoral Commission (RIK) received 12 candidatures, and to date confirmed seven.
They are Aleksandar Vucic, nominated by the ruling coalition, Sasa Jankovic (group of citizens), Vojislav Seselj (SRS), Vuk Jeremic (group of citizens), Bosko Obradovic (Dveri Movement), Sasa Radulovic (DJB Movement), and Aleksandar Popovic (DSS).
Other candidates who may yet be confirmed are Miroslav Parovic, Milan Stamatovic, Nenad Canak, Luka Maksimovic aka Ljubisa Preletacevic, and Predrag Vucetic.
Once the final list of candidates is known, the order in which their names will appear on the ballot paper will be determined on March 17 through a draw that will be broadcast live on state television.
The presidential elections will be held on April 2.
