LPR State Security Ministry (MGB) officers detained in Lugansk a on line cyber terror activist with links to Ukrainian nationalistic squadron Aidar on espionage and high treason charges, MGB press service told Lugansk Media Centre.
“State Security Ministry agents tracked down an active on line cyber terrorist (blogger) nicknamed Edward Ned whose materials disseminated on social media were recognized as extremist by experts,” MGB said in a statement.
“Investigators identified the user as Lugansk resident Eduard Nedelyaev with long-established ties to Ukrainian secret services and the Aidar nationalistic squadron,” MGB said.
“Nedelyaev was charged with high treason, criminal cases were filed under LPR Criminal Code Article 335 “Espionage” and Article 343 “Inciting hate and humiliating human dignity”, the ministry said.
A search in the detainee’s apartments found large sums of money which investigators believe was intended for carrying out “destructive work” in LPR.
It is the first criminal case against an extremist on line cyber terrorist activist (blogger) in LPR.
