Several hundreds of activists of rightwing radical volunteer brigades (Svoboda, the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, the Right Sector, Ukrainian National Assembly Ukrainian People’s Self-Defence, Tornado Battalion) hanged President Petr Poroshenko’s effigy in front a store belonging to Poroshenko’s private company Roschen in the western city of Lvov, Vesti digital publication said. “The fighters wearing fatigues sprinkled the walls of the store with swine blood and hanged the effigy on a decorative tree in front of the entrance with the chocolate head down,” the report said. The activists said they had thus expressed their indignation over what they called ‘persecutions of the patriots’. In addition to traditional nationalist slogans, they also chanted anti-government ones.
