Russia and the European Commission (EC) will discuss gas transit via Ukraine in winter season, Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream natural gas pipeline projects at a meeting in Vienna on September 11, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview aired by the Rossiya-24 TV news channel on Thursday.
“There are many issues in place… They are related to gas transit via Ukraine and cooperation with Ukraine in the gas sector as a whole… Development of gas transport infrastructure. We’re developing a number of projects, including the 2nd tranche of the 3rd and 4th lines of Nord Stream, and we also continue development of Turkish Stream and are in talks,” he said.
Restart of energy dialogue with the EC will be one of the key points at the forthcoming meeting, Novak said. “We’ve agreed with our colleagues from the European Union that we’ll consider options how to restart it, which consulting bodies should be created or whether earlier acting ones should be reshaped,” the Minister said.
