Weiland’s friend Dave Navarro tweeted at 9:01 p.m.: “Just learned our friend Scott Weiland has died. So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight.”
No further details are available at this time. Weiland had struggled with substance abuse issues for much of his career, though the exact cause of his death remains unclear at this time.
