A rally of protest against the amendment of the Constitution, initiated by the ruling majority of the legislative body of the country, was held a day ago in front of Kirgizstan Parliament. About 50 people took part in the rally, held by public organisations and human rights activists. The protesters put up the crossed over portraits of the faction leaders and the head of presidential administration with slogans: “Stop the sale of the country!”, “No to lawlessness!”, “Do not rape the Constitution!” Well-known in Kirgizstan human rights activist, head of “Precedent” partnership Nurbek Toktakunov participated in the rally.
In the afternoon of the same day a footage appeared in the internet, the author of which was asking a question: “One of the rally’s organizers, Nurbek Toktakunov, met US Ambassador in Kirgizia Richard Miles in his office”.
That very Richard Miles, who was called “a genius of colour revolution” by republican media.
According to his official career record, he was an ambassador in Azerbaijan from 1992 till 1993, then head of the mission in Belgrade from 1996 till 1999, an ambassador in Bulgaria from 1999 till 2002. He also headed the US embassy in Georgia from April of 2002 till August 2005, exactly in the period, when a coup d’etat took place in the country that acquired the name of “revolution of roses”.
