Ukrainian PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk claimed that all prices for energy products will undergo auditing of the biggest world companies, in order for this subject to stop being a target for political posturing.
Yatsenyuk made this statement at a parliamentary session, during the hour of questions to the government, writes Ukrainska pravda website.
“In order to put an end to this lying hysterics about the prices, when they put graphs on display that distort the reality, I held a meeting with the National Committee of Energy Products, Naftohaz and Gazprom. We have the following suggestion: all prices that have been set up by an independent body, not the government, should undergo auditing by the four biggest world companies”, Yatsenyuk зsuggested.
“Then we will put up the shutters of those political scientists, who struggle for the fate of Ukrainians. They should have struggled five years ago, when they signed the contract determining gas price”, – he concluded.
Notably, in January of 2009 following “the gas crisis” an agreement on supply of Russian gas to Ukraine was signed by the management of Naftohaz and Gazprom as a result of negotiations between Yuliya Tymoshenko and Vladimir Putin.
In 2015 Yuliya Tymoshenko showed graphs featuring energy products price formation for the population at Savik Shuster’s talk show. She claimed that the government drove up the price.
The irony lies in the fact that Tymoshenko for a long time had been Yatsenyuk’s boss in Bloc of Yuliya Tymoshenko.
