Repeated attempts at detentions of Russian citizens in various countries for their eventual deportation to the United States are a clear confirmation the US authorities are adamantly defiant of international treaties and agreements, Russian lawyer Anatoly Kucherena has told the Rossiya-1 television news channel.
“These detentions in the territories of third countries and the deportations of Russian citizens to the United States indicate that the US has no intention to observe international law and treaties,” Kucherena said.
Earlier, the Finnish authorities confirmed the detention of Russian citizen Maxim Senakh at the US request.
In Minnesota, Senakh was charged with multiple computer fraud.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has described the Senakh affair as a manifestation of a certain policy, and not as a casual incident.
“Regrettably this policy of hunting after and attacking Russian citizens around the world is becoming a system. It has nothing to do with the administration of justice,” Zakharova said.
