Secretary of State John Kerry distorted Russian statements about the incident with aid convoy near Aleppo in his speech at the UN Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin said on Wednesday.
“I felt disappointed with certain things. For example, I was disappointed that Secretary of State (John) Kerry decided to distort some of the statements that Moscow made with regard to that tragic incident with the aid convoy,” he said.
“I think that, unfortunately, he decided to distort some words that should have meant we were for a thorough investigation and that we were putting the information we have on the table. It is unfair,” Churkin said.
Earlier, at the UN Security Council high-level meeting on the situation in the Middle East during the 71st session of the UN General Assembly Kerry said that information provided by Russia about the September 19 attack on the aid convoy near Aleppo was contradictory.
