LPR Ministry of State Security suspect the detained servicemen of Ukrainian army special operations forces 8th regiment were behind the murder of Mikhail Tolstykh, call-sign Givi.
“We have information that makes us believe the murder of Givi was masterminded by counter-intelligence department of Ukraine’s Security Service and perpetrated by the servicemen of special operations forces 8th regiment,” said LPR Minister of State Security Leonid Pasechnik.
The officers of LPR Ministry of State Security and the Ministry of Interior uncovered a network of sabotage-reconnaissance groups who had been operating in the Republic. The detained saboteurs confessed a number of crimes they had committed in LPR, DPR and Russia, including the murder of LPR Colonel Oleg Anaschenko and DPR Colonel Arsen Pavlov, call-sign Motorola.
“In Khmelnitskiy, Ukraine, Ukrainian army special operations forces 8th regiment is headquartered. The commander is colonel Oleg Nechayev, the commander of the regiment’s intelligence department is major Pavel Balov, call-sign Kedr. A special department was established in the Security Service of Ukraine to perform sabotage and reconnaissance operations in the Republics and in Russia. The head of the department is Anantoliy Sandurskiy, call sign Khutor,” Pasechnik said.
“these people are directly responsible for the crime and other crimes, for instance, in DPR, Russia – in Crimea.”
“The task to kill Oleg Anaschenko was set by Khutor in November 2016.”
Anaschenko was killed in a car blast in Lugansk on February 4.
