Leaders from more than 30 countries have confirmed their plans to attend a military parade in Beijing on September 3 to mark the 70th anniversary of Victory in World War II and the war of China’s resistance to Japanese aggressors, the country’s State Council said on Tuesday.
The Chinese State Council said in general, the representatives of 49 countries will join the celebrations in the country’s capital. Earlier reports said Russian President Vladimir Putin is due to arrive in Beijing for the parade.
The other guests at the celebrations will be the heads of state and governments and other high-ranking representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Thailand, Argentina, Cuba, Pakistan, Serbia, Republic of South Africa, the Czech Republic, Poland, Egypt, South Korea and other countries.
