President of the Polish Gymnastics Union Barbara Stanislavishin has thanked the volunteer of the First European Games Elchin Alibeyli for helping Polish jumper Bartholomew Gesh to avoid accident in trampoline competitions, spokesman for the Polish National Olympic Committee Henryk Urbash told TASS.
Gesh lost his balance in the air and missed the trampoline in synchronized bouncing competitions last Sunday, June 21. The athlete fell on his back but managed to avoid more serious injuries and consequences thanks to a volunteer who had caught him on the fly and fallen on the floor with him.
“I don’t know the details, but I know that the Head of Polish Gymnastics Union thanked the volunteer”, Henryk Urbash said.
The European Games trampoline competitions took place on June 17-21, 2015. They ended with an absolute triumph of the Russian national team that had won gold medals in all the four events: men’s and women’s individual competitions and synchronized bouncing.
